Develop Key Performance Indicators for Local Governments in Australia: Achievements on Drugs and Alcohol Action and Community Safety (KPI)

  • Research program: Ethnographic Research
  • Project status: Completed
  • Start date: April 2007
  • Expected end date: September 2008
  • Completion date: November 2008
  • Funded by: National Local Government Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee
  • Lead organisation:

The aim of the project is to identify and trial a minimum data set capable of measuring the local government achievements in terms of alcohol and other drug (AOD) problems. This would encompass the following indicators:

-local policy measures;

-resident perceptions of use, harm and local level responses;

-objective serial measures of use, harm and response effort.

On the basis of findings from the trial, NDRI would incorporate the most salient and sensitive measures in a composite, operational toolkit that would be broadly applicable to local governments across Australia.
