Suzanne Fraser appointed next Director of ARCSHS

NDRI congratulates Professor Suzanne Fraser who has been appointed as the next Director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University.

ARCSHS is an established leader of social research into sexuality, health and the social dimensions of human relationships. It has become the major player in framing the agenda on, and delivering the evidence to understand, sex and sexuality in contemporary Australia, particularly in relation to health, education and social justice.

Professor Suzanne Fraser founded and has led the Social Studies of Addiction Concepts (SSAC) research program at NDRI since 2013, based at the institute’s Melbourne office.

NDRI Director, Professor Simon Lenton, congratulated Professor Fraser on her new appointment.

“This is a great achievement and a fantastic opportunity for Suzanne”, said Professor Lenton.

“I would like to acknowledge all the excellent and influential work that Suzanne and her team have accomplished during her time at NDRI, and wish her all the best for the future in her new role”, he said.

Professor Fraser will be joined by her collaborator, Professor David Moore, who currently leads NDRI’s Ethnographic Program, several research staff and two PhD students. Professor Fraser and her team will start at La Trobe on 1 July 2019.
