Board of Management
NDRI’s Board of Management reflects our national scope, comprising of members from around Australia. Members are drawn from stakeholders including Aboriginal Australians, law enforcement, non-government services, public health, the wider community, academia and research. The role of the Board is to assist the Director in the strategic management of the Institute, and to endorse and oversee our strategic direction.
Mr Neil Guard
Neil Guard is Chief Executive Officer of Richmond Wellbeing. He has been on the NDRI Board since 2008 and Chair since 2009.
Professor Simon Lenton
Simon Lenton is Director of the National Drug Research Institute. He has been on the NDRI Board since becoming Director in September 2016.
Professor Michael Berndt
Michael Berndt is Pro Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. He has been a member of the NDRI Board since 2013.
Ms Ann Deanus
Ann Deanus is Chief Executive Office of Women's Health Services. She has been on the NDRI Board since 2008 as the non-government sector representative.
Professor Torbjorn Falkmer
Torbjorn Falkmer is Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. He has been on the NDRI Board since August 2016.
Detective Superintendent James Migro
James Migro is with the Licensing Enforcement Division of the Western Australia Police and is the official nominee of the WA Police Assistant Commissioner. He has been a member of the NDRI Board since 2011.
Mr Michael Moore
Michael Moore is President of the World Federation of Public Health. He has been on the NDRI Board since 2009 as a national/other state representative.
Professor Chris Moran
Chris Moran is Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research at Curtin University. He has been a member of the NDRI Board since mid-2017.
Dr Karl O'Callaghan
Karl O'Callaghan was the Police Commissioner of Western Australia from June 2004 until August 2017. He joined the NDRI Board in November 2017 as a national/other state representative.
Ms Linda Savage
Linda Savage is a lawyer and convenor of the Valuing Children Initiative. She has been on the NDRI Board since May 2016 as the Western Australia state representative.
Dr Steven Skov
Steven Skov is a community physician at the Centre for Disease Control in the Northern Territory. He has been on the NDRI Board since July 2016 as a national/other state representative.
NDRI’s Management Team is responsible for assisting the Director in the day to day management of the Institute.
