1. To review existing knowledge on assertive youth outreach in Australia;

2. To investigate the aims and priorities of the new assertive youth outreach program underway in SWSLHD DHS (as articulated in program documentation and by relevant service providers);

3. To explore the experiences and priorities of program participants, including how they understand and frame their drug use, and to what extent their perspectives and priorities mesh with the approaches taken by the program;

4. To synthesise these new datasets to inform the program’s aims and practices, identify areas for further consideration, and produce a peer-reviewed account of the initiative (refereed journal article) to inform further policy and practice in SWS and elsewhere.
