Mt Theo Enhancing Capacity Management project (Mt Theo Palka-Jarrija Project)

  • Research program: Prevention and early intervention
  • Project status: Completed
  • Start date: February 2008
  • Expected end date: June 2011
  • Completion date: January 2011
  • Funded by: Mt Theo-Yuendumu Substance Misuse Aboriginal Corporation
  • Lead organisation:

The project involves working with the team from Mt Theo’s Palka-Jarrija Project to develop a ‘plain English’ organisational management policy and procedures manual, by focusing on ensuring accurate and efficient record keeping processes that will provide a strong evidence base to inform future Program police and direction. Management policies and procedures that are simple and thorough, easily understood and undertaken by incoming staff, will allow the Mt Theo team to pursue the Committee’s direction to increase Aboriginal staffing at all level of the Mt Theo Program. Palka-Jarrija means ‘to bring into being’ in Warlpiri. This Project aims to ‘bring into being’ the many strong stories of recovery in the Mt Theo Program by having readily accessible and accurate data as an evidence base to confirm those stories, and subsequently, the efficacy of the Program. The project will ‘bring into being’ better pathways for community members to be employed in the management of their program.
