Aboriginal mental health and substance use

This research brings Aboriginal people and mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) services together to co-design programs that are culturally appropriate for Aboriginal families and communities.

It aims to implement and evaluate a culturally secure systems change framework to improve how mainstream mental health and AOD services work for and with Aboriginal people, and to make services more responsive and accessible to Aboriginal clients. NDRI also aims to build lasting relationships between the Aboriginal community and services to sustain long-term partnerships.
