Dr Mandy Wilson

Dr Wilson is a Research Fellow at the National Drug Research Institute (NDRI), Curtin University, Western Australia. She received her PhD in the Anthropology of Gender and Sexuality in 2004. She is currently a member of the Aboriginal Research Team and the Program Lead of the Justice Health team at the NDRI. She has a long history of working with vulnerable groups, including transgender people, young people in residential AOD treatment, and Aboriginal Australians, and has been involved in many community-driven research projects in the AOD and public health space. For the past 7 years her work has focused on justice-involved and incarcerated populations, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait females, with her areas of expertise expanding to include mothering from prison, females who use force, and issues around domestic and family violence.
