Global harm reduction update published in The Lancet

A new systematic review updating approaches to preventing and managing harms among people who inject drugs (PWID) has been published in The Lancet Global Health today.

Authored by a team of Australian and UK researchers, with NDRI Research Fellow Dr Sam Colledge-Frisby as lead author, the article updated estimates from a 2017 review of global coverage of harm reduction services that target PWID, including needle and syringe exchange programs, opioid agonist treatment, take-home naloxone programs, supervised consumption facilities, and drug checking services.
