Hospital admissions with injecting-related bacterial infections have been increasing drastically over the past 10 years. Our understanding of these infections is rudimentary, and this webinar will showcase perspectives from expert clinicians and researchers to discuss the evidence, clinical management, and a pathway forward for reducing associated harms.

Facilitated by NDRI Research Fellow Dr Sam Colledge-Frisby, this webinar will unpack injecting-related bacterial infections among people who inject drugs. Through a series of short presentations, it will describe the nature of these types of infections, treating this population in the hospital and in the community, perspectives of people who inject drugs on their risk behaviours that lead to infection through qualitative interviewing, and a path forward for research, clinical care, and service provision.
