NDRI shares AOD research expertise with Malaysian delegation

Curtin University’s National Drug Research Institute hosted a delegation from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), sharing alcohol and other drug research and expertise across a range of policy areas.

Following brief overviews of each organisation’s work, NDRI researchers presented on topics ranging from vaping, alcohol and minimum unit pricing, and hospitalisations among people who inject drugs to the impact of amphetamine type stimulants on mental health.

The delegation was part of a 5-day trip to Perth by staff and students from The Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology in UPM’s Faculty of Educational Studies.

During their visit, the delegation also met with the Mental Health Commission, drug treatment services, and representatives from the School of Education and Faculty of Humanities at Curtin.
