The National Initiative In Drug Education (NIDE) Project will be implemented by the Australian Council for Health Physical Education and Recreations (ACHPER - WA) during 1996. The project will build upon the experiences, expertise, research and networks developed during the Western Australian School Health Project (WASH). The Centre has been invited to design the evaluation plan, undertake the evaluation, and write the evaluation report for this project. The NIDE project is of particular interest to the community research team as it will use the WASH Project model as the basis for developing structural change in schools to support drug education within an appropriate health context.
